So, what's happening this week. Since it is already Wednesday some stuff has already happened.
Ben Lockwood passed his Eagle Board of Review Tuesday evening and is now officially an Eagle Scout. He is the third and youngest Lockwood brother to go through the troop and make Eagle.
The Northern Tier scouts met the same evening and the scouts spent their time organizing the crews and creating the plan for our preparations for Northern Tier.
We have openings for 2 scouts and one adult on the crews. This is a great opportunity and you will regret not going if you miss it. Sign up NOW!!
Troop meeting this Thursday
If you haven't paid already, please bring your dues for next year to the meeting.
There will be a committee meeting parallel to the troop meeting. This is part of our Rechartering process which takes place in December.
For the scouts.
There will be a short training meeting for the newly elected Patrol Leaders where they will get their marching orders.
There will be short discussion on the role of Quartermaster and presentation of the rules for the scouts to deal with the equipment and QM's.
Scouts will read and work on the first requirement of Cooking Merit Badge.
This Saturday, weather permitting, the troop will hold a trailer and equipment cleanup session where we will inspect and repair all tents, tarps, lanterns, cooking gear and Chow boxes. It will start at 9 AM and continue unit we have finished. It is a class "B" event uniform wise.
All scouts and leaders are politely requested to be there. There will be a come and go policy in effect for those who have scheduling conflicts. If we extend over lunch, lunch will be served. Hope to see you all there.
Our next Campout will be held on December 7th and 8th. Location to be announced shortly.
Troop meetings in December will be held on the following Dates.
Note the last two meetings are on TUESDAY., 7 to 9 PM
After the 17th we will not meet again until next year (Always wanted to say that) on January 2nd 2014 (Already!!?).
