Indian Lore Camporee. 4/25/14
The troop participated in the Indian Lore Camporee with the White Oak District at the Piscataway Indian Museum site in Waldorf Maryland. As typical, it rained when we got there and we had to postpone setting up until it stopped. thankfully it was over in a short while and setup completed. Friday evening's events were postponed until Saturday night. Saturday bloomed bright and clear and the scouts spent the day learning Indian history, making Indian crafts and playing Indian games. Saturday night saw the scouts participating in dances and singing at the campfire ceremony indoors as a thunderstorm passed through. Sunday again dawned clear and bright.
The scouts learned of the Indian way of worship and heard the creation story as told by the Piscataway Leader Natalie Stands on a Rock.. Great campout/event.
The troop has a service project scheduled for this Saturday. May 3rd.
