TROOP 1441 NEWSLETTER

SEPTEMBER 17, 2014

The Summer Court of Honor is fast approaching ( 9/25/2014) and tomorrow night is the last time you can get a Scoutmaster's Conference and a Board of Review for Rank Advancement.  In fact, you should have made arrangements for them already.

To all the Scouts, Please forward to me a list of what you expect to receive at the Court of Honor.  Family and friends are invited and if you would, bring a snack to share at the meeting. The COH will be held in the Lyon Center at the regular troop meeting.

The Boonsboro Campout went very well, most people arrived Friday night and Saturday morning we began work on our Service project - Building a hiking trail across the front of the mountain. We worked to about noon when a short downpour put a halt to the efforts.   The rest of the afternoon was dedicated to rank advancement.  Sunday morning involved a rapid breakfast, clean up and packup.  A Scout is Reverent was observed and a discussion on the avoidance of Drugs, tobacco and alcohol was held with the group.  We were cleaned up and departed by 11:55 AM.

P.S.  Please send me any pictures you took of the Monster fish.

This Saturday, 9/20, Anthony begins work on his Eagle project. 8 AM until 4 PM .  Location details to follow.

Next Saturday 9/27 Patrick will begin work on his Eagle Project, again Details to follow.

Webelos Weekend October 10  -12 will be at a new location on Briggs Chaney Road this year.  We need to register the scouts ahead of time  so please send me an e-mail indicating whether you are going or not.  We will be teaching Webelos 1 fire building again and running the fire building contest.
