This past weekend's storm would have made a challenging Klondike Derby.  After three days I finished shoveling but still await the plowing of my street.  The winds really created some awesome drifts around the house and on the roof.  The snow will be around for a while, hopefully through the BroadCreek Father/Son Campout.

The Troop held its Quarterly (Fall) Court of Honor last Thursday to recognize the achievements of our scouts.  The event was attended by most of the scouts but most of the families were absent.  Maybe you were out stocking up for the coming storm, but it was a missed opportunity to support the scouts and interact with the other families.

What's Happening???

Our regular troop meeting this coming Thursday will include a visit from some Webelos,  an Order of the Arrow Election and preparations for both the Scout Sunday activities and the Broad Creek Camp-in.

Order of the Arrow Election

The OA is Scouting's Honor Camping Society.  Scouts gain admission by being elected by their troop members.  In order to be nominated for election the Scout must have 20 nights of camping, be at least First Class Rank and be approved by the Scoutmaster.  A special team of AO members will come in to conduct the election.  Scouts, this is a must attend meeting.

Scout Sunday Sat 2/6 and Sun 2/7

The Scouts will attend and assist at  the the 5 PM Mass on Saturday and represent the troop to the parishioners on Sunday after the Masses in the Gym.
