CAR WASH

The troop held its a carwash fundraiser at the SJB Lyon Center parking lot this past Saturday Oct 17th from 9 AM until 1 PM.

The day dawned bright and sunny but continued to get cloudy and cooler by the middle of the day.  Twelve scouts responded to the request for assistance along with 5 adults.  The troop earned $128.75 in donations.  We also sold popcorn to the people while their cars were being washed.

Lessons learned from this event.   More scouts and adults are needed to participate to insure the success of the event.  There are many positions required to make it work, sign wavers,  hose operators, sponge operators, rinsers, dryers and supervisors.  The donuts disappeared quickly.  The Scouts worked very well together and good teamwork was evident.  This event was almost impromptu and our next will have more lead time.

This was an official event and counts towards "Being active in your Troop or Patrol".
