Well, here we are, right in the middle of our busiest season. There are a lot of activities, identified below, that you should be taking action on or at least putting them on your calendar. 

 

NEW MEMBERS

We will be welcoming a few graduating Webelos from packs in the community.  We will also be welcoming scouts from Troop 473 as their Troop has decided to take a hiatus for the time being. It will be a challenge and fun to integrate everyone into troop 1441.  Hopefully this will all start in earnest at  Thursday's meeting.  Neckerchief production will have to start up again.

 

TROOP MEETING  MARCH 31ST 7 PM SJB

Schedule you Scoutmaster Conference in time for the Court of Honor.

 

LIFE TO EAGLE CONFERENCE, APRIL3RD, 1 TO 4 PM

The White Oak District is conducting their semi-annual L2E seminar for all Life scouts aspiring to be Eagle, their parents and Leaders to bring them current on the process to follow on the Eagle Path.

All Life Scouts Should attend.  To register, sent an E-Mail to Whiteoakadv@aol.com with the names of all attendees.

 

TROOP MULCH SALE  APRIL 9TH  8 AM TO 5 pm SJB Parking lot

This is our 15th annual mulch sale and it is intended to help defer some of the costs for the scouts going to Philmont High Adventure this summer.  Scouts going on the Adventure can earn money by working on the Sale.  They will receive a pro-rated amount of the proceeds based on the hours each worked.  Other scouts and adults help by volunteering their time to work on the Sale so that when they go high Adventure other scouts will help them.  The sign up list can be found atwww.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C0A4BA9AB2BA5FCL-troop1 .  Please sign up for as many hours as you can give.

WINTER COURT OF HONOR  APRIL 14TH 7 PM SJB

The Winter Court of Honor will be held at the Troop meeting on Thursday April 14th.  Scouts will have to schedule their Scoutmaster Conferences this week prior to the troop meeting Thursday, between 6 and 7 PM in order to have a Board or Review the following week to be able to receive their advancement recognition at the COH, Follow that? wow!

 

DISTRICT ROUNDTABLE APRIL 13TH 7:30 PM

    PEOPLES COMMUNITY BAPTIST CHURCH Norwood Road just off New HampshIre Ave.

This monthly event is open to all scouters and provides discussion platforms, news in scouting and community awareness programs. You are all welcome to attend.

 

TROOP MEETING APRIL 21ST 7 PM, SJB

Camporee Preparation.

 

DISTRICT CAMPOREE, GREENBELT STATE PARK APRIL 22-24.

The District Camporee theme this year is "Patrol Independence".  Each Patrol, under the leadership of the Patrol Leader will camp in a separate site with all their gear, independent of the adult leaders who will be camping in their own site.  Each Patrol will take part in challenges and be scored on their scout skills, teamwork and spirit.  Patrol leaders will have to start now to have their patrols ready!!

Drivers will be needed to transport the scouts to and back.

 

.SUMMER CAMP, CAMP OLMSTED, GOSHEN SCOUT RESERVATION JULY 10TH THRU THE16th

Registration in now open.  To register, the full early bird amount is $360 per Scout payable now prior to April 30th. 

 

TROOP CANOE TRIP PATUXENT RIVER, MAY 14 - 15TH

The Troop is conducting an overnight Canoe trip on the Patuxent River from Queen Anne to Jug Bay.  All participants must be BSA Swimmer Qualified.  If you passed the BSA Swim test at a Scout camp or facility in the last year you are OK, otherwise you must take and pass the test.  We will set up testing events at Martin Luther King Pool.

 

TROOP ELECTIONS, TROOP MEETING MAY 5TH.

The scouts will be selecting a Senior Patrol Leader, ASPL and Patrol Leaders at the meeting.

If you wish to run for any position please E-Mail me two weeks prior.

 

ANNUAL TROOP PLANNING MEETINGS

SCOUTS at Troop meeting May 14th

    Patrol Leaders should canvas their members for ideas, activities and suggestions.

ADULTS  at Special Meeting Tuesday May 19th.
