This Thursday the Troop will hold its Summer Court of Honor.  We hold 4 a year, one at the end of each season.  The purpose is to recognize the achievements of our scouts and encourage them to continue their progress.  We also get credit in the Journey to Excellence Program, run by national BSA as part of their program to motivate the Scout units to "Be all that they can be".  This is a formal occasion for the scouts and they should wear their full uniform including their Merit badge sashes.  All proper and current insignia should be in its proper place on the uniform.  .

This is a celebratory event and to make it so, we need to have the families participate. Fathers, mothers, siblings, relatives, friends etc. come out and cheer on your favorite scout.   Please bring some snacks to share with the group.

Events happening in October.

10/8 Thursday Troop meeting/Court of Honor 7 to 9 PM, Lyon Center.

Each Scout is requested to email to me what awards/badges they think th4ey will receive at the Court.

10/14  Wednesday, White Oak District Roundtable, Peoples Community Baptist Church, Norwood Rd. 7:30 to 9 PM

All adult leaders and registered unit members are invited to attend and participate, lots of good information passed around.  Helps you do a better job.

10/15  Thursday Troop Meeting 7 to 9 PM, Lyon Center SJB.

            Preparations for Car Wash

10/17 Saturday    Troop Car Wash 9 AM to 1 PM SJB Parking Lot.

        Class B uniform.

10/22  Thursday  Troop Meeting, 7 to 9 PM, Lyon Center SJB

                Preparations for  Webelos Weekend.

10/23 - 25  Friday Evening to Sunday morning, Webelos Weekend, 6 PM Friday to 10 AM Sunday.

            Being held at Camp Bennett,20501 Georgia Avenue, Brookeville, MD.  The Troop will be teaching Webelos Ones Firebuilding and conducting the

            Firebuilding Contest.
