Talk about "BE PREPARED",  great opportunity, storm of the century coming.  Hope you all are ready and can just relax by the fire over the weekend. 

 

The Latest troop schedule is attached.  It contains the dates for the Philmont Crews training Events

Tuesday 2/1 is the Parents meeting to deal with organizational items, transportation etc. 

 

WHAT'S HAPPENING.

Tonight we will hold our quarterly Court of Honor (Fall) to recognize the achievements of our scouts since early October.  Courts of Honor are held to  provide a platform for recognition of the work the Scouts have done and encourage them to continue.  all families should attend even if your scout is not receiving an award this time.  It is also a great opportunity for the families to get to know one another and socialize after the ceremony.  All COH's are Snack events and families are encouraged to bring snacks  to share.

 

SCOUT SUNDAY CELEBRATION, February 6 AND 7TH

The troop will be participating in the  Mass Service Saturday at 5 PM and with a Scouting Display in the Gym after Sunday Masses.  Please use the attached link to sign up for the activities.

BROADCREEK FATHER/SON CAMP-IN FEB 12-14

The Troop is conducting its 36th Annual Father/Son Camp-in at Broad Creek Scout reservation near Prospect  MD.  We will be sleeping in the large Admin Cabin with bunk beds.  Meals will be served family style.  The scouts will be taking part in skills and challenges contests and the dads will get a chance to show their skills too.  Fill out and return the attached permission slip to sign up,  indicate on the slip whether dad is coming or not. Fee is $30 per person payable to Troop 1441 BSA.

 

DISTRICT MERIT BADGE DAY.  FEB 15TH  ST BERNADETTES

The Troop is conducting a Merit Badge Day at St Bernadettes on University Blvd. in Four Corners. We need the help of the parents in the troop to make this a success.  We need monitors, administrators, general helpers, Etc.  We will be offering two sessions AM and PM, start at 8 AM and end at 4 PM.  Please call me or e-mail if you can help, even part of the time.  301-607-8770.

 

ORDER OF THE ARROW ELECTION,  TROOP MEETING 1/28

The camping honor society of the Boy Scouts, (the Order of the Arrow) is looking for a lot of good scouts.  These scouts are nominated from the troop based on their rank (at least First Class, number of knights of camping (20) and recommendation by the Scoutmaster. They are elected by the troop at large.

Troop 1441 will hold the election on 1/28.
