MARYLAND FOOTBALL GAME

 The University of Maryland is sponsoring a "Scout Overnighter" on Sept 18 and 19, 2015. The campout will occur the night before the football game (Friday Sept 18,2015) on the campus of the University of Maryland. On Saturday (Sept 19, 2015), game day, the scouts can work on their sports merit badge with University of Maryland sports officials in the morning and then they will attend the football game at noon.

Friday Sept 18, 2015-Overnighter- Camping on the softball field.

1. Arrival between 7-8PM at the University of Maryland Lot 4B (Softball Field)

2. 8-830 PM set up camp.

3. 830-1000 PM Kickball tournament

4. 1030 PM lights out

Saturday Sept 19, 2015

1. 7AM awake scouts

2. 7-8 AM Break camp

3. 8 AM Breakfast

4. 10-11 Sports Merit Badge program

5. 11-12 March up to Byrd stadium

6. Game begins at noon

7, Half time parade.

8. Parents to pick up their Scout at the University of Maryland lot 4B at the end of the game- approx.. 3PM.

 

FLAG RETIREMENT CEREMONY WITH THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS  THURSDAY 9/24/2015 AT SJB.

The troop is conducting a Flag Retirement Ceremony with the Knights of Columbus behind the Lyon Center at 8 PM.  All are invited.  Rain date will be October 1st, same place same time.

 

SUMMER COURT OF HONOR, THURSDAY OCT 8TH  7 PM

Come and join the troop in recognizing the achievements of our Scouts over the summer and at Camp.

 

EAGLE PROJECTS.

Drew's Eagle project, Path to ST John  

The construction phase of Drew Mair's Eagle Project is complete, and we invite you to inspect the results in front of the Church. Feel free to walk along the new stone pathway from across the main doors, toward the pond. Many Scouts and parents assisted in the construction; thank you!

Johan has had his Eagle Project proposal approved by the Troop and the Sponsor.  He will be building walkways between buildings.  Be on the lookout for work party announcements.

 

WEBELOS WEEKEND.  Friday October 23 thru Sunday 25th

Location to be determined.  the troop is scheduled to teach firebuilding and run the fire building contest at the event.  More to come.

 

 

POPCORN SALES. Flyers were distributed to the scouts at Thursday's meeting.  Each of you is strongly encouraged to help the troop with this fundraiser,  win prizes too.  go out and SELL!

 

PATROL REORGANIZATION

The Troop has reorganized itself into three standing patrols.  Com to the meeting Thursday and find out where you are.

 

ADULT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.

To parents: please try one of the positions on the troop committee. There are still a lot of openings. Some positions require 2 or three persons. Please call me if you have any questions. First committee meeting is scheduled at the Scout meeting on for October 1, at 7:15 thru 8:00 PM.

LIFE SCOUT TO EAGLE CONFERENCE (L2E)

The White Oak District is conducting a L2E conference on Sunday September 27th from 1 PM until 4 PM at the Montgomery Medstar unit in Olney Maryland. This is for Life Scouts, soon to be life scouts , leaders and parents. Class A event.
